Mrs. Kambraia Dixon Owner/Director
Meet Mrs. Kambraia!
Founder • Child & Family Specialist • Program Director
A Village Child Care was founded by Mrs. Kambraia Dixon in 2011 with a passion for supporting children and families in her community.
Her journey began as a youth leader at church, followed by working as a nanny and later as a Behavior Interventionist in Los Angeles County schools supporting children with special needs.
Mrs. Kambraia holds:
B.S. in Interpersonal Communication (CSULB)
Master’s Degree in Marriage, Child & Family Therapy (UOP).
She went on to become a Child Therapist, where she:
Conducted mental health evaluations and diagnosed and supported children with various needs. She provided therapy and family-centered care plans.
In 2016, she made the decision to dedicate her full time and expertise to A Village Child Care.
Today, many families have been with AVCC for 5+ years, creating a close-knit, family-like environment where children grow up together.
Her mission is simple: To provide a safe, structured, nurturing, and enriching space where every child can thrive.

Meet Mr. Lee!
In-House Chef • Mentor • Program Support
Lee Dixon III known as “The Gentle Giant” joined our Village in 2015 after relocating from Kansas City, Missouri. He is a proud father of two boys, Devin and Zion, and husband to Mrs. Kambraia (married in 2019).
Mr. Lee is well known in the community for his warm personality and positive presence. He brings a unique blend of structure, mentorship, and fun to our program.

•Culinary school graduate & certified chef
As our In-House Chef, he prepares nutritious meals while also supporting daily activities including homework help, behavior support, transportation, and play.
Mr. Lee is a mentor, academic advocate, and a kind, engaging presence that children naturally connect with.
"A Village" Child Care
The phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” originates from an African proverb and conveys the message that it takes many people (“a village”) to provide a safe, healthy environment for children, where children are given the security they need to develop and flourish, and to be able to realize their hopes and dreams. This requires an environment where children's voices are taken seriously and where multiple people (the “villagers”) including parents, siblings, extended family members, neighbors, teachers, professionals, community members and policy makers, care for a child. All these ‘villagers' may provide direct care to the children and/or support the parent in looking after their children.
